Decks, fences and outdoor structures

Outdoor work planned for the property.

A good outdoor build starts with the layout, support and everyday use. We review the site, access, dimensions and material choices so the project fits your property and has a clear construction scope.

Whether you are replacing worn deck boards, rebuilding a fence or planning a new structure, we pay attention to the framing, connections and finishing details as well as the appearance. Repairs are assessed before recommending whether to repair a section or rebuild.

Decks can be built in pressure-treated lumber, cedar or composite, with material recommendations based on budget, maintenance and the look you want.

Questions

Deck, fence and outdoor questions.

How much does a new deck cost?

It depends on the size, the height off the ground, the materials, and how many stairs and railings it needs. Send photos and rough measurements and we will give you a straight estimate over the phone, free.

Can you repair an existing deck or fence?

Yes. We review the condition and extent of the damage before recommending a repair or replacement. Photos are useful for the initial discussion; a site assessment may be needed to confirm the scope.

Can you help choose materials?

Yes. We build in pressure-treated lumber, cedar or composite, and discuss the appearance, exposure, maintenance and budget before agreeing the material specification.

What affects the price?

Dimensions, height, site access, supports, materials, stairs, railings, removal of existing work and the condition of the structure all affect the scope and price.

Do I need a permit?

Permit requirements depend on the location, height, attachment, size and design of the deck. Projects within the District of 100 Mile House and the Cariboo Regional District can have different requirements. We can help identify the applicable requirements during project planning and confirm what needs to be in place before construction begins.
